For 3 decades we have been making maple syrup for other people, 4 years ago we purchased 54 acres of raw woods and now have 1700 taps. We us all stainless steel equipment, and a wood fired evaporator. At the 2014 Maple Festival we received a Blue Ribbon- Excellent award for our Grade A Fancy Syrup (Golden). We were very fussy about the syrup that we entered in that contest and we are just as fussy about what we send to customers. You can see more about our operation at facebook.com/potter.family.maple.
Other sizes available upon request message us and we will give you a quote.
Potter Family Maple
We make primarily Grade A-Amber and Golden Maple Syrup. We do not sell or make Grade B Syrup. If it’s not good enough to go on our table it’s not good enough to go in a jug and be sent to a customer.
Notes:
Member:
Vermont Maple Sugar Makers’ Association
Pure Vermont Maple syrup is organic; however we chose not to be Certified Organic because of the cost of the annual inspection.
New Vermont Grades effective 1/1/15 followed by closest old grade name:
Grade A – Golden Color/Delicate Taste – (Grade A-Fancy or Light Amber)
Grade A - Amber Color/Rich Taste – (Grade A-Medium Amber)
Grade A – Dark Color/Robust Taste – (Grade A–Dark Amber)
Grade A – Very Dark Color/Strong Taste - (Grade B)
Grade B syrup is not recommended to be put on pancakes but more used like molasses is used in recipe’s.
